Top interview tips when hiring a Tutor

We understand that finding the perfect Tutor can be quite a gruelling process. You have to ensure that you can trust them, their expertise and trust that their direction follows yours.

We all learn in different ways, some may be fast paced learners, others may need repetition, some may also need visual representations to support them. Taking this into account, it is imperative that we find the PERFECT fit for you, and also the tutor-after all-you are both making a commitment to each other.

At Busy Kiddies, we vigorously screen all of our candidates and after contacting references, checking their documents, including DBS, OFSTED reports, childcare certificates etc. We then conduct interviews with each Tutor, to find out what teaching style they adapt, and what clients they feel comfortable supporting, this way we can ensure that the tutor is the best match for you. Finally, the first session will be on a trial basis, you decide if you are happy, and if so, we can begin to book in slots in the first steps towards your journey of success!

Although we do interviews prior to you meeting your Tutor, you may want to ask them some questions and find out a little bit about your Tutor on their first day, we always advise the tutor to meet before your first session (maybe come in 20-30 minutes earlier) or you could do this at the end of the first session, whatever is easier. When you first introduce yourselves, you could also ask them some interview questions of your own-this way you could get a better idea of the Tutor and elaborate on what it is that you would like to achieve at the end of your sessions.

Take a look at some interview questions below to give you some ideas as to what you may want to ask:
